The Intended
Live At El’ Club
All Gone Records No Cat
Cassette
£8.99
Another amazing side of underground/DIY pop/rock from Detroit’s All Gone: The Intended are a four-piece that feature Heath Moerland of Sick Llama/Fag Tapes and members of Tyvek and the label describe their sound as “Index meets 39 clocks with the pop of The Sea Urchins” which is the kinda description that breaks a sweat here at VT HQ. It’s totally on the mark: this is a supremely crude rendering of UK DIY, with an American garage band ethos married to the kinda songwriting that came out of the whole Times/Television Personalities axis. Throw in some moves that could easily be The Chills circa “Flamethrower” and the kinda fidelity that slurs basement and you are pretty much there. Another great tape from a fantastic imprint, highly recommended.
