Machinefabriek, Jan Van Den Dobbelsteen, Erwin Van Looveren and Freiband all received texts from Freek Lomme, and were basically allowed to do whatever they wanted with them. The results are cool, and the four pieces comprise a nicely congruent whole. Van Looveren's noisy-ass track is perhaps my fave, but they're all interesting. Freiband grate amp-cheese around the edges of the words'shadow, Machinefabriek runs the words through a chainsaw sequencer, and Dobbelsteen surrounds them with a bushy load of acoustic guitar scrapings." - Byron Coley. |
